Welcome to the Native & Search API Product Bulletin. This update includes a quick snapshot of recent and upcoming releases and is focused on features supported by the API. A summary of supported functionality is also included.

October, 2018

New: Use Conversion Counting To Control & Optimize Your Campaigns

  • We’ve introduced a new campaign-level setting that allows you to control how you want a conversion to be counted for your campaigns. The feature is supported in the API, Bulk and UI, along with new reporting column specifying the conversion model used. For more details on setup and available options, see Dimensions, Cubes, Campaigns API Fields, and Bulk Campaigns Fields in the UI. Dynamic Product Ads (DPA) Now Known as Native Feed Ads (NFA)

  • Native Feed Ads (previously known as Dynamic Product Ads, or DPA) enable you to target customers with ads for specific products that those customers have already viewed. Your ads then appear on customers’ desktop, tablet or smartphone devices. With this update, please note that the endpoints and documentation URLs in the API and Advertiser Guides remain the same. For details on topics which describe how to work with NFAs, see Native Feed Ads API documentation and the Advertiser Guide.

  • Also, we’ve added new macros supported for Native Feed Ads.

New: Account Change History API

  • The account history API provides advertisers with change history data for an account within the last three months. You can view information on the objects changed and the old and new values associated with those changes. The API lets you view and monitor a wide range of changes – for example, when a campaign was paused, who changed budgets, specfics of bid changes, and so on. For more details on the endpoint, fields and example representations, see Account Change History.

Reminder: Oath: Ad Glossary

  • The New Oath: Ad Glossary now is available for download and installation. This is a unified Oath Ad Platforms glossary, built and implemented as an addition to the Apple that resides in every user’s Applications folder on Mac OS X. As a glossary, it includes a broad set of searchable terms, illustrations, videos and embedded hyperlinks that are unique to the Native & Search API, UI and to the Oath Ad Platforms DSP. Reminder: Updates to Error Codes in API

  • For reference, we’ve recently added new API error codes, including REQUEST_CONFLICT, HUGE_REQUEST, REQUEST_URI_TOO_LONG, and UNSUPPORTED_MEDIA_TYPE.

Reminder: How to Cancel API Job Processing

  • We’ve added the ability to cancel a job that is processing via the Native & Search API. To do this, make a PUT call in Bulk via the API while it is processing by adding cancel in the body of your request. For more details and an example response, see the brief technical note in Bulk Operations documentation.

Reminder: Glossary of Native & Search Terms

Reminder: Updated Postman to v3 Endpoint

  • Updated the Postman collection to the v3 endpoint for all API calls. Using Postman, you can test and verify the calls you make in the Native & Search API. See Postman API Toolkit.

Reminder: Guide: How To Utilize Dot Pixel & Conversion Rules

  • Step-by-step guide available on how to effectively utilize dot pixel and conversion rules, based on your particular needs and setup, i.e., whether your advertiser account contains either a single website or multiple websites. The API workflow described in this document involves, essentially, no more than five basic steps to set up your Dot Pixel tags and Conversion Rules.

Reminder: Bulk Downloads Performance


If you have a large account and notice your bulk downloads are taking longer over time, please consider deleting dormant or orphaned objects (Campaigns, Keywords, Ads, Ad Groups). See the Native & Search Guide for more details on Bulk operations.
