Location Filters

The Location filter enables you to identify ad-hoc audiences based on their geographic locations.

Overview

Filtering by location enables you to identify consumers that have visited Oath properties in the previous thirty days based on geography.

Location Filters

Fig. 21 Location Filter

The Location filter enables you to select selected and baseline audiences by city, state, and DMA:

Table 10 Location Filters
Filter Description
City The City filter enables you to identify audiences based on the city of residence.
State The State filter enables you to identify audiences based on the state of residence.
DMA The DMA filter enables you to identify audiences based on the designated marketing area of residence.

Multiple locations may be specified by city, state, or designated marketing area (DMA).

Keep in mind that filter parameters are inclusive (logical OR) if they are specified within a single filter and restrictive (logical AND) if specified across multiple filters. So if you specify multiple cities you will profile an audience that consists of residents from any one of those cities. To learn more, see filtering-logic.

Location filtering parameters may be combined with other behavior- or attribute-based parameters to identify audiences.

Note

Location data is based on unique IDs collected from Oath data sources where geographic information can be identified. To learn more about the sources of Audience Insights data, see Demographics Data.
